We all know about texting and drinking behind the wheel
But while drowsy its hard to steer
There's different lessons from the story I'm about to tell
But the important thing is, before driving make sure all is well
Everything begins with a teen named Nikolai
He is smart and tall and a pretty cool guy
He takes all the top classes in the school he goes
He works hard and passes, I'll have you know
But after a hard day's work his day is not done
Why track practice has just begun
He runs and he races, giving it his all
He makes sure he paces and makes sure not to fall
Cause he is the captain
A role model one might say
Always works hard
No time to play
If you're thinking that practice is the end his day
Then you'd be mistakin and need to listen k
A good student he is but a good brother too
For he has siblings that get pick up at Shue
His parents can't drive them for their busy at their job
So he picks them up, the crazy little mob
And drops them off at home
cause he's off again
For he works at the local shady inn
Finally, home for the day he takes out a textbook
Opens it and studies, it's late but he ain't shook
"I can handle this" Nikolai thought
"Something slight" even the stuff he wasn’t taught
Day in and day out with this daily routine
Poor Nikolai barley 18
Was as tired as one could possibly be
Test after test, quiz after quiz
And track meet after that
A chauffeur to the kids
And part time job to have the day end
This kids schedule was filled to the brim
But every single day he sat and he thought
"I can handle this for I'm Nikolai Tatolineelot”
And he could handle it for the time being
But there was something he wasn't quite seeing
Until one stressful evening after pulling an all nighter,
having two test, and running till he fainted cause he was a fighter
He kept up his schedule he thought he was unstoppable
But poor Nikolai was even more tired than he thought was possible
So after dropping off the siblings
And after a crazy long shift
The drowsy dude was driving, should have called a lift
So tired, so shlumped
So he tried to wake up
He rolled down the window to feel the cool breeze
"I know this route" he thought “I can drive this with ease”
But with eyes barely opened he really didn't see
A poor lady walking her dog with glee
He swerved, he steered, he beeped, and he braked
But the car tipped
The car tumbled
Off the road and in the lake
Oh boy this is looking really grim
I sure hope this kid learned how to swim
Falling and falling deeper and steeper
In the water he went
Pushing and shoving on the door, all his energy he spent
So tired so fatigued there was nothing he could do
And nothing he did
Alone in a car, sinking in a lake
A dreary feeling he could not shake
And that was it
That was all
That was the last of Nikolai
Anyone has ever saw
With a busy schedule the young man had
The only thing he wished for was some rest, just a tad
In the end his wish was fulfilled, that's what he got
Now the only thing left for him to do is to lay and to rot
